Pollutants block the view. The so called aerosols are fine particles and polluting gases that absorb and disperse the sunlight. As a consequence objects can be obscured or reduced in color or texture.
Dispersing some light is a natural process. As you know, the sky is blue because of gases that scatter the light. But due to human activities, there were produced other fine particles and gases that unnaturally disperse the sunlight; and the reduction of visibility is extremely efficient. There are regional hazes or layered hazes.
About Haze
Haze is one of the most arising forms of air pollution. All around the world this phenomenon crops up. The haze that is caused by air pollution is build by the sunlight. The sunbeams encounter the small pollution particles in the air. They visibly reduce the clarity and color of the seen landscape. Especially in national parks this problem had been watched. In America, there are about 300 million visitors at the national parks. Due to the haze a lot of tourists are not able to gaze to the beautiful landscape around them – no gaze with haze!
The most time of the year there is a white and brown haze in the air that disperses the view. It is know, that this is a sign of air pollution. In the majority of cases the wind carries the dust over hundreds of miles to national parks.
A lot of matters, which are contained in the haze, can be dangerous. They can be the origin for serious health problems as well as environmental damage. As well, small particles are able to cause acid rain.
